Campus Tours are held Monday at 1pm & Wednesday at 10 am. Tours last approximately one hour and are led by one of our fantastic student ambassadors.

Tour Information

Discover the beauty of Vancouver Island University's Nanaimo campus located at the base of Mt. Benson.  The tour is led by one of our fantastic Student Ambassadors who will showcase the highlights of our amazing campus. Student Ambassadors can point out where classes will be. This tours allows for students to have their campus questions answered. 
  1. Interested in Residence? Tours can include a look onto campus residence life. Come check out the apartment, townhouse or traditional style residence buildings to see if this is the place for you. VIU Residences offer a first-year residence guarantee for students entering from high school and provide exceptional academic and social supports, the keys to student success. Check 
Be sure to dress for the weather and don’t forget some comfortable walking shoes! (Approximate duration: 1.5hrs) 

Group Visit Options

General Group Visit

Are you interested in bringing a group of high school students, elementary students or others to visit campus? These visits are planned based on the needs and time requirements of the group. In order to provide the best possible visit experience, large groups are normally split into smaller groups all led by a Student Ambassador.  (Approximate duration: varied)

Aboriginal Group Visit

Vancouver Island University's Nanaimo Campus is located on the traditional lands of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. VIU supports the active participation of Aboriginal people and is committed to working with and learning from the Aboriginal communities of this region and beyond to improve educational opportunities for Aboriginal learners. This tour will take students on a visit of the Shq’apthut – a Gathering Place and Services for Aboriginal Students with options to visit with the Aboriginal Student Transition Advisor, and include other points of interest including program specific areas.
