Tuition credit must be used for a Fall 2026 start date, and you must qualify for the program you are applying to. 

The tuition credit contest is open 11 am to 4 pm, Saturday, October 18.                 

The winner will be drawn on Wednesday, October 22. 

1.    Eligibility: 
The draw is open to future domestic VIU students who attend VIU Fest 2025 and complete the official entry form and/or apply for admission at VIU Fest on October 18, 2025. Employees of Vancouver Island University and their immediate family members are not eligible to win. The draw is open to domestic residents of Canada (excluding Quebec); no purchase is necessary to enter. International students are not eligible at this time. 
2.    How to Enter: 
Eligible participants must complete and submit an official entry form at VIU Fest 2025 or through the official online event registration form during the event period. Limit of one (1) entry per person.  
3.    Additional entries will be granted for future-students who apply to VIU while they are at VIU Fest or attend a pop-up classroom session.  
4.    Prize: 
One (1) prize of up to a $7,500 tuition credit will be awarded. The credit must be applied toward tuition fees for full-time or part-time studies at Vancouver Island University beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. The prize has no cash value, is non-transferable, and cannot be applied to past tuition fees or balances. 
5.    Winner Selection and Notification: 
One winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received. The draw will take place within two (2) weeks following VIU Fest 2025. The selected entrant will be notified by email or phone within five (5) business days. If the selected entrant does not respond within ten (10) business days, another entrant will be randomly selected. 
6.    Conditions of Prize Acceptance: 
The winner must meet VIU’s admission requirements and be enrolled in a programfull-time or part-time studies that begins in the Fall 2026 semester. The tuition credit will be applied directly to the winner’s student account once registration is confirmed. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to allow VIU to use their name, photograph, and likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation. 
7.    Skill-Testing Question: 
To comply with Canadian contest requirements, the selected entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question before being confirmed as the winner. 
8.    General: 
Vancouver Island University reserves the right to verify eligibility, cancel, suspend, or modify the draw if any factor beyond its control affects the fairness or integrity of the contest. All decisions by VIU are final. 
9.    Privacy
Personal information collected for the draw will be used solely for the purpose of administering the contest and contacting the winner, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
