Thinking about joining us at VIU? Get a taste of the VIU student experience in a pop-up class. VIU Fest Pop-up classes are 12 to 3 pm so you can try a class or two and still have time to explore the rest of the festival. Pop-up classes are taught by VIU faculty who can answer questions about programs.

Practical Nursing Hands-on Skills
A practical nursing pop-up class
Time: 12 pm
Join us for a real life simulation activity and practice a skill used by real life practical nurses!
Top Chef Experience
Culinary pop-up class
Time: Choose noon, 1 pm or 2 pm
Experience what it’s like to be a top chef! You’ll be paired with a Culinary Team Canada chef and given a mystery box of ingredients. Together, you’ll create a dish and compete in a mini culinary competition.
Three start times available.
All participants must be 16 years or older.

Explore the art and science of human movement with Kinesiology students and faculty. This hands-on class will allow you to examine your inner workings through anatomical models and physiological experiments.
Art with a Math Twist

Step into the Mood Lab and think like an interior designer! Draw a design concept, explore materials and create a material palette using colour, texture and pattern to bring your concept to life. We’ll photograph the finished creations in our light booth, with an opportunity for participants to share their designs and win a prize.
