Volunteer Opportunities
Block Party Leaders
Are you a student leader with a passion for being a part of your faculty and a mind for creativity and organization? We are recruiting faculty-specific block party leaders who will collaborate with their faculty representatives to throw a virtual block party event to welcome students. Block Party Leaders will work over the summer in collaboration with the RockVIU Block Party Project Leader to plan and execute their party.
Peer Mentors
Are you an upper-level student that wants to help facilitate safe spaces for incoming and returning students? Peer Mentors during Beach Fire Chats sessions provide a welcoming peer-to-peer experience prior to RockVIU. Learn more about Fireside Chats on the RockVIU page!
Campus Excursions
Bring a warm and friendly attitude to this engaging series of events! Your role as a volunteer will entail spending time with incoming new students as they participate in an interactive Campus Excursion featuring a variety of Engagement Booths across the campus. Set-up and take-down of equipment, facilitation of activities, and your inviting presence will all be critical as students explore their campus for the first time.
Connect Fair Carnival
Volunteering at the Connect Fair Carnival provides a well-rounded experience helping students get to know services and clubs on campus, along with engaging in a fun festival. Jobs will include set-up, engaging students, and more!

Let's Get Started!
Volunteers will have the opportunity to welcome students to VIU in a meaningful way and facilitate their integration into our warm community; obtain a Co-Curricular Record (CCR) notation to have their reflective learning recognized by VIU; receive a RockVIU t-shirt; and enjoy plenty of pizza from our presenting partner, Panago Pizza. Fill out the registration form to learn more about the volunteer positions, dates and times involved, and volunteer training.
Apply to Be a RockVIU CCR Talks Speaker!
Similar to TED Talks, CCR Talks are short, six-minute presentations that provide student leaders with the opportunity to share their reflections on how they’ve been involved on campus and in the community. CCR Talks also allow students to showcase reflective learning by incorporating the VIU Graduate Attributes into their outside-the-classroom engagements.

RockVIU volunteer opportunities are recognized through the Co-Curricular Record.
