New Student Orientation
RockVIU is your chance to learn how to get the most out of your time at VIU. Explore campus, meet faculty and connect with other students. RockVIU Spring 2025 starts off with a virtual information session on December 18, a Campus Adventure scavenger hunt on the first day of class, a movie night the first week of classes and a connect fair the following week. Schedule:
December 18, 2024: Virtual information session
8 to 9:30 am (Pacific Time)

Get introduced to key campus services and programs available for all VIU students.
January 6, 2025: Campus Adventures
Session 1 (for Faculty of Management): 9:30 to 11:30 am
Session 2 (for everyone else): 12:30 to 2:30 pm
Explore the Nanaimo campus and learn about campus life through a scavenger hunt activity.
January 10, 2025: Movie night
Time: 7 to 11 pm
Malaspina Theatre (Building 310)
Join us for a relaxing and fun evening watching a themed movie! Movie TBD.
January 15, 2025: Winter Connect Fair
Time: 11 am to 3 pm
Main cafeteria (Building 300)
Play games, engage with campus services and sample beverages and snacks from around the world.
