Join us for this first discussion in the VIU Graduate Student Orientation. We will provide an overview of the Orientation and an introduction to your program leads. Each session is offered TWICE (Morning and Evening PST) to ensure access for students in different time zones.
This year’s event will be jam-packed with exciting activities designed to orient students with VIU campuses, resources, and services while connecting students with their faculty and peers. Register on the Co-Curricular App and check out the entire event schedule.

We recognize that for some students (i.e. those in Europe and Africa) this session will be scheduled in the middle of your night. So, we will post a recording of the session and ask that you watch it before a quick 'meet and greet' with the Graduate Programs Office the next morning, immediately before the International Education Session.
Following an official welcome from Stacie Chappell, Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, you will meet the Graduate Programs Office (GPO) team: Golfer Okorie, Graduate Programs Advisor and Carolyne Rickett, Graduate Programs Assistant. We will review your program specifics and launch into the always awkward but ever charming first round of introductions.



VIULearn Student Orientation
This is an important webinar to introduce you to the VIULearn portal for your classes. Participants will learn how to register for the self-paced VIULearn Student Orientation 2022-2023 course, which they will be able to access for up to a year. They can explore that course at their own pace to learn how to navigate VIULearn and practice various tasks and activities that they might be asked to complete in their courses. They will also learn how to adjust their VIULearn settings and notifications for the best online experience. There will be some time at the end of the orientation to directly address some participant questions.

Interactive Art Exhibition

Learn what it means to 'Matter Here' at VIU through works of Performance Art, Visual Art, Photography, Ceramics, Sculptures, Paintings and Portraits. Students will be taken through an interactive journey exploring reflection, connection and emotion.
